DUDDINGSTON and Liberton were the two title winners in this season’s South East Edinburgh Winter League.
The one that really matters – the men’s league crown – was claimed by Duddingston despite losing at home to Craigmillar Park in their first outing.
After no further defeats, a 2-2 draw at Craigmillar Park in the last round of matches sealed the title triumph.
Both Duddingston and Craigmillar Park finished on eight points but the former came out on top by virtue of a better ‘goal difference’.
Liberton, meanwhile, made home advantage count to win the individual event.
Kieran Cantley and Daniel Eardley, both products of the club’s successful junior section, led the way in that with matching one-over-par 68s.
With an aggregate of 19-over-over par, the hosts finished five shots ahead of second-placed Craigmillar Park, with Duddingston third on 33-over and Prestonfield bringing up the rear on 40-over.
On the junior front, Craigmillar Park claimed the league title after finishing two points ahead of runners-up Prestonfield.
And, in the individual event, Prestonfield’s Harvey Scott took the scratch spoils with a 73 while home club player Spencer Roberts secured the handicap honours with his 65 off 22.
