North Berwick’s Grace Crawford has again used the US Kids Golf European Championships in East Lothian to underline her star potential.
Three years after winning as a seven-year-old in the event, Crawford produced another eye-catching performance to triumph in the girls’ 10-and-under category at Royal Musselburgh.
A member of the Loretto Golf Academy programme, she posted rounds of 66-75-71 for a four-under total, finishing three shots clear of an international field.
Crawford’s latest significant success has come as no surprise to Scott Knowles, the Stephen Gallacher Foundation manager. “She is our current under-10 stroke-play champion – both boys and girls,” he said of the Lothians starlet.
Another youngster from the European Tour player’s foundation, Ruben Lindsay, also won his section - the 13-and-under boys’ group - at Royal Musselburgh.
“Although his home club is Ayr Belleisle, Ruben has been with foundation from our first year,” added Knowles.
