Lothians star Grant Forrest has been handed two chances to make his mark on the European Tour before putting his clubs away for Christmas.
The 24-year-old is competing against Masters champion Sergio Garcia and former world No.1 Adam Scott in this week’s Australian PGA Championhip in Queensland.
He then heads to South Africa for next week’s Joburg Open and is being joined in both events by Turnhouse-attached Duncan Stewart.
“I thought about giving them a miss, to be honest, after playing nine weeks in a row at the end of last season, but it’s too good an opportunity, especially when I know that I will get a nice break over Christmas and New Year,” said Forrest.
In his first full season as a pro, the former Walker Cup player finished 34th on the Challenge Tour money-list to secure full playing rights for the second-tier circuit next year.
“Playing in these two European Tour events allow me to keep things ticking over at the end of what has definitely been a satisfactory season,” he added.
