The prestigious Aberdeen Asset Management sponsored-event, which is held a week before the Open, will head to East Lothian before heading to Castle Stuart in the Highlands in 2016.

It is the first time Gullane has been picked for the tournament, which was held at Royal Aberdeen this year.

The decision is sure to boost East Lothian both from a sporting and economic perspective. Next year’s Open is at St Andrews, meaning that a strong field and numerous spectators from all over the world will descend on Gullane ahead of the major championship in Fife.
