HARRISON secured a place in the record books by winning the Edinburgh Municipal Clubs Winter League for the first time.

A 2.5-1.5 victory over Silverknowes at the Braids did the trick, with Scotland captain Scott Knowles joining forces with Justin White, pictured, to deliver one of the wins for Harrison.

“It was a good game played on a course in good condition,” said Silverknowes stalwart Keith Reilly. “The greens were very quick – and a bit
like the Braids of old.”

Results (Harrison names first): Dougie Waugh and Stuart More bt Tom Caldwell and Kenny Alexander 3 and 2; Iain Ashley and Brian Byars lost to Kevin Reilly and Iain Doig 3 and 2; Scott Knowles and Justin White bt Keith Reilly and Murray Paterson 2 and 1; Mike Robson and Cameron Bruce halved with Graham Robertson and Paul Heggie.
