Scotland’s latest Challenge Tour winner, Duncan Stewart, has a whole host of Capital connections.

First and foremost, the new Challenge de Madrid champion lives in the city, having moved to Edinburgh a couple of years ago from Grantown-on-Spey.

In addition, he’s attached to Turnhouse, where he uses the club’s excellent practice facilities and saw his work on them pay off with a one-shot win at Real Club de Golf La Herrería.

Last but not least, the 31-year-old had an Edinburgh-based company to thank for getting a start in the event that produced a £23,000 pay-day.

“It is a massive relief,” said Stewart of his welcome breakthrough win on the second-tier circuit. “Not having full status this year I was on an invite this week and I can’t thank Bounce sports enough for all their support.”
