Allyn Dick has taken his club championship title haul to 14 after making it back-to-back wins at Carrickvale.

Hannah Darling (Broomieknowe) and Cameron Gallagher (Longniddry) are heading for the European Young Masters in Norway next month. They’ve been selected to represent Scotland along with Carmen Griffiths and Aidan O’Hagan.

He beat Craig Terry, the club master at the Merchants, in the final to claim the honour as Mortonhall celebrates its 125th anniversary. “A credit to the club, both as a member and as its champion,” said a spokesman.

It was a tale of first-time winners in this year’s finals at Duddingston. Conor Scott led the way as he claimed the men’s title while Craig Tumblety (B), Neil Hamilton (seniors), Karen Ferguson-Sneddon (ladies) and Josh Hunt (juniors) were also tasting first successes.
