NEIL PARK has been appointed as the new secretary/treasurer for the Lothians Golf Association and will take up the post on September 1.

He succeeds Allan Shaw following his appointment as vice president at last year’s annual general meeting.

Park is a five handicapper and current member of Tantallon Golf Club, where he has also recently joined Council. From 2001-2004, he also served as junior convenor and Council member at Royal Burgess Golfing Society.

Park has passed his ClubGolf Level 1 course and has a UKCC qualification. He is currently helping to coach a group of youngsters at North Berwick.

Professionally, he has also made sport his career. He has worked as a consultant across a broad range of UK Sports for the past 20 years during which he has worked with more than 30 national governing bodies throughout UK. Currently (and going forward while working with Lothians) he is one of two partners in 2Si Plus LLP. The business is an independent sports development and management company undertaking assignments for public and private sectors.

“I am confident that executive members will give him a hearty Lothians welcome,” said Lothians president Alistair Bisset of Park’s appointment.
