SILVERKNOWES are in pole position to top their group in the Edinburgh Municipal Clubs’ Winter League after beating Carrickvale away.
The same two teams meet again at Silverknowes this weekend and the home side head into that with a three-point lead over their opponents.
Graham Robertson and Kevin Reilly led the way for the visitors in the first leg of the tasty double-header as they produced some good golf to beat Allyn Dick and Paul Cunningham in the top match.
Richie Tait and David Yorkston levelled the scores by beating Tom Caldwell and Stevie Adamson.
But a win from Paul Heggie and Ian Randall, coupled with a half point from Keith Reilly and Murray Paterson in the anchor match, secured a 2…-1… success for Silverknowes.
“The return game will be just as hard to get a result but, at the moment, we are in pole position,” admitted Keith Reilly.
