Former Lothians champion Alan Anderson led the way with a one-hole win over Colin Malone, helped by two 2s at the fifth and 12th.
Immediately behind, Baberton’s Scott Carmichael made three birdies in the first six holes as he secured a share of the spoils against Kevin Cattanach. But, on a night when that was to prove the only highlight for the visitors, both Stuart McLaren and Ross Bryson amassed seven birdies between them in claiming their points for Bruntsfield Links.
“An important win for us against one of our main challengers for the top spot in our league,” admitted team manager Douglas Livingstone.
Craigmillar Park won by the same margin at home to newcomers Craigielaw to sit a point ahead of both Ratho Park and Dalmahoy, 5-3 winners over Swanston New, in Section C.
“The whole team played well on the night and managed to secure a two valuable points with our biggest win of the season,” reported Craigmillar Park’s Ken Utterson.
