Edinburgh University, who were fourth going into the weekend, slipped to fifth after taking only one point from a possible six. They lost 2-1 at AAM Gordonians on Saturday – the north east team’s first win this season.

The students drew 3-3 at lowly PSL Team Sport Clydesdale on Sunday, the match having been switched from Peffermill because of a double booking.

Edinburgh were 3-1 down after 50 minutes. Aidan Black scored for the home side after three minutes and Ian Moodie levelled 13 minutes later.

Andy Allan fired the home side ahead two minutes later and Danny Cain slotted in 50 minutes from a penalty corner rebound.

But Dan Coultas scored from a penalty corner and Callum White netted late-on for the draw.

Watsonians, the former league leaders, were held 0-0 at Clydesdale on Saturday.
