Clydesdale had matters all their own way as they crushed old rivals Uddingston by 115 runs, Awais Shah’s half century providing the impetus at Titwood before they bagged the last eight Uddy wickets at a cost of only 29 runs.

The biggest upset of the day came at Mannofield, where Aberdeenshire were ousted by East Kilbride thanks mainly to the influence of former Scotland man Ross Lyons.

He hit 76 to inspire the Lanarkshire side to 238 for seven then captured two wickets to help dismiss the hosts for 194.

Another ex-Saltires bowler, Moneeb Iqbal, was also a major player for EK, grabbing five for 21 as he mopped up the tail.

Greenock beat Stilring County by four wickets at New Williamfield.
