Grant will allow NUVOC to build up volleyball
It will allow the club to employ six additional part-time coaches to take new weekly training sessions for schoolchildren.
The club will expand into a number of secondary schools in the south of Edinburgh and it is hoped that the junior membership of the club will rise from 50 to 150 in the next four years.

Hide AdBill Stobie, head coach of the club’s junior volleyball programmes and the lead coach for the project, embraced the news.
“This is fantastic news for volleyball in south Edinburgh and all the potential young athletes who’d like to give volleyball a go,” he said.
“This award means that we can kick-start what will be a self-sustaining programme of coaching across a number of schools that will provide the players to expand the current local Junior District Competition network.
“We have already invested in training young coaches to take on roles in the programme and will continue to do so.
