Hockey: Grange Euro hopes ended by Grove Menzieshill

The Dundee side now play Bromac Kelburne, the recently-crowned Division One champions for a 12th straight season and Scottish Cup winners, in next Sunday’s Grand Final.

Meanwhile, Invereith – second to promoted Watsonians in Division Two after the regular season – found the door to Division One more difficult after being beaten by PSL Team Sport Clydesdale.

The Glasgow side took the semi-final tie 5-2 on aggregate after winning the second leg 3-1 and the first clash in Edinburgh on Saturday 2-1. Inverleith now play Hillhead, who lost 5-1 on aggregate to Uddingston, to decide the final place in Division One next term.

In the women’s European play-off semi-final, Edinburgh University, who won the first leg at Milne Craig Clydesdale Western 2-0, finished the job with a 3-2 home win. The students now play old adversaries Grove Menzieshill in the final next weekend in Glasgow. In the the women’s promotion/relegation play-off semi-final, Erskine Stewart’s Melville, who were promoted last season, are still in the mire after losing 8-4 on aggregate to city rivals CALA Edinburgh, who won the second leg at Meggetland 4-2. Erskine Stewart’s Melville now play Grange, runners-up in Division Two, who drew 2-2 with Watsonians in the play-off second leg after losing 4-3 in the first leg.
