Hockey: McCurry’s Inverleith are hot stuff as they keep on winning

INVERLEITH added to their perfect start to the hockey season and stayed on the coat-tails of early pace-setters and champions Kelburne.

Steve McCurry’s men move on to 12 points to be three points adrift of Kelburne thanks to a 3-2 victory at Hillhead, Scottish international defender Adam Mackenzie claiming a double, both from penalty corners, for the Edinburgh side. The other strike came from Andrew Johnston.

Grange, minus five starting players through injury, stay in second spot but are now two points behind Kelburne after being held 1-1 at Clydesdale, Colin McIver grabbing their goal.
