The students are in fourth place in Division One with four points from three starts, but remain disappointed they didn’t take anything from Sunday’s defeat by Grange.
Sixth-placed Western lost 4-0 to Grange in Edinburgh last Saturday. They also have four points and Dennis Hay, a former Olympic coach, said: “It’s been an up and down season so far for Western, but the boys come into the game after losing 3-1 at Dundee in a university game which was a blow.”
Elsewhere, second-placed Grange, with Martin Johnstone and Andrew Brogdon injured, travel to struggling Clydesdale and are odds-on to pick up their fifth straight win against a team defeated 12-2 by champions Kelburne last weekend.
Inverleith, who are third with nine points, three behind Kelburne and Grange, take their unbeaten three-game record to Hillhead, who are ninth with only one point, and the Edinburgh side have a full squad to pick from.
Fifth-placed CALA Edinburgh, four points from four games, are determined not to let rock-bottom Dundee Wanderers score their first points of the season when they visit Tayside.
The other game sees champions Kelburne, who top the table with an unblemished four-game record entertain Grove Menzieshill.
