Hockey: Watsonians gear up for play-off with seven-goal romp

ASHLEY COCHRANE is relishing Sunday’s promotion play-off with CALA Edinburgh at Peffermill after helping Watsonians to an emphatic 7-1 win over Uddingston in their final Division Two game of the season.

Cochrane, who returned after four games out, said: “We wanted to win the league but we’ve got a chance of promotion via Sunday’s game and we aim to take it.”

Magnus Ferrier scored twice against Uddingston to take his goal tally for the season to an all-time career high of 51. Uddingston had taken a 1-0 lead after four minutes when Jonjo Lavin waltzed through the centre of the Watsonians defence.
