Lothians begin bid for Area Team Championship title

LOTHIANS, the record 13-times winners, are looking for a first victory under the new two-day format in this weekend’s Scottish Area Team Championship at Blairgowrie.

“We’ve got a very strong team and it would be nice if we could win it for the first time in its current format,” said Silverknowes stalwart and captain Keith Reilly.

Allyn Dick (Kingsknowe), Graham Robertson (Silverknowes) and Stephen Simants (Dunbar) were in the side that finished fourth at Prestwick 12 months ago.

Joining forces with them this time are two more Dunbar men, Danny Kay and Zander Culverwell, and Craigielaw’s Ross Noon.

Fife are the defending champions.
