LOTHIANS begin the build-up to a home Scottish Area Team Championship in September by holding a squad get-together at Gullane this Saturday.

A group selected for 2016 matches includes two of this weekend’s host club players in George Thomson and namesake Ross, while Harburn, Liberton, Kingsfield and Tantallon are also double-fisted.

Chris Curran represents Harburn along with Craig Deerness while Anthony Blaney and Kieran Cantley fly the Liberton flag. Allyn Dick has been selected along with Kingsfield clubmate Jordyn Rhind and Tantallon have Calum Hill and Chris Low in the squad.

It also includes reigning Lothians champion Sean Marc (Broomieknowe) and the player he succeeded, David Miller from Duddingston. Callum Cochrane has been given a chance to stake his claim for an Area Team Championship spot – on home soil in his case – at Marriott Dalmahoy, as has ex-Scottish Boys champion Stephen Buckley (Royal Burgess).

The squad is completed by Micheal Bacigalupo (Longniddry), Gary Corrigan (Greenburn), Alan Crawford (Deer Park), Grant Forrest (Craigielaw), Stuart McLaren (Bruntsfield Links), Ben Mcleod (Musselburgh), Mark Napier (Turnhouse) and Keith Reilly (Silverknowes).
