MacGillivray aims to end season with National Championship

Edinburgh's Craig MacGillivray will be hoping to end the snooker season on a high this weekend by winning the Scottish National Championship.

MacGillivray plays promising Glasgow teenager Chris Totten in the final on Sunday after knocking out two of his club mates to get there.

He was taken all he way to a deciding frame by Robert Carlisle, making runs of 79 and 65 in a tense 5-4 victory, and then making breaks of 103 and 61 in a 6-3 win over Ross Vallance in the semi-final.

Totten produced an impressive performance in a 6-3 defeat of in-form Michael Collumb to reach the final for the first time.

The final takes place on Sunday, 1pm, at the Creamery in Falkirk over the best of 13 frames.
