The Livingston athlete cruised her way to victory, delivering her fourth World Cup medal this season – the 25-year-old also won 1500m gold and 500m silver at last weekend’s penultimate event in Dresden, Germany.

Christie was crowned triple European champion last month when she won gold in the 500m, 1000m and 1500m in Sochi – the same venue in Russia where she suffered three disqualifications at the Winter Olympics in February 2014.

She has now returned to her training base in Nottingham ahead of next month’s World Championships in Seoul. Christie has previously won three silvers and a bronze at the sport’s showpiece event but is confident she can return home with that elusive gold medal this time round.

“I’m really pleased with my current form and the way I am racing,” Christie said.
“The results over the last couple of weeks are helping me build my confidence looking towards the upcoming World Championships.”
