The Edinburgh Wolves solidified their position at the top of BAFA Division 1 North with a record-breaking 40-0 demolition of Scottish rivals Clyde Valley Blackhawks.

Wolves’ result – the American football team’s biggest-ever victory – moves them to 7-1 for the season and secured a place in the National League play-offs.

Lloyd Dignan ran in the first touchdown before Michael Yule made a superb catch in the end zone to put the Wolves 18 points ahead in the first quarter.

A Dave Orr double, following some fine throwing from quarterback Jamie Morrison, put the Wolves 34-0 ahead at half-time.

Steve Wilson ran in the final touchdown of the afternoon as Wolves marked their third game in a row without conceding a single point.
