Edinburgh canoeist David Florence is in Spain ahead of round four of the slalom World Cup which gets underway tomorrow at La Seu d’Urgell.
The double world champion lifted the C1 singles title in 2009, and he is challenging again after winning in London and finishing second in Prague. Florence sits third in the 2014 rankings, just 14 points behind Slovakian leader Michal Martikan going into this weekend and next month’s Cup Finals in Germany.
“I’m not dissatisfied with my performances this season,” said the Scot. “You would always like to do better, but I seem to be racing well on the whole.”
Florence will also contest the C2 doubles with Rich Hounslow, although the world champions are only ninth in the Cup standings.
