City of Edinburgh returned to winning ways with a straight sets victory over Edinburgh University to remain top of the women’s SVL Premier.
After losing their unbeaten volleyball league record to Su Ragazzi the previous weekend, they bounced back with a hard-fought 25-21, 25-19, 25-22 win over the students.
Su Ragazzi kept up the pressure by beating Edinburgh Jets convincingly 25-9, 25-18, 25-11 and are on the same points mark as City at the top but have a game in hand.
In what must have been a unique day in the Scottish League, EVERY match across the five divisions was won by the away team.
In the men’s SVL Premier, City of Edinburgh overcame bottom club Glasgow Mets 25-17, 25-22, 25-17 without being over-stretched.
City of Glasgow are in a commanding position at the top, seven points clear of nearest rivals South Ayrshire after the weekend action.
Edinburgh’s NUVOC found the going tough at home to third-placed Volleyball Aberdeen and went down 16-25, 15-25, 13-25.
