Edinburgh curler Gina Aitken made it two round-robin wins out of two at the World Junior Championships in Tallinn.

The 21-year-old and her team followed Saturday’s opening 8-2 win over Estonia’s Marie Turmann with a hard-fought 6-4 win over Czech Alzbeta Baudysova after counting three stones at the seventh end to lead 5-2. It was the perfect start for Aitken who lost six of nine games at last year’s World Juniors in Switzerland.

Murrayfield’s Bruce Mouat also began with a win on Saturday, defeating US skip Ethan Meyers 9-2, but he was beaten 7-4 yesterday by the defending champion, Yannick Schwaller from Switzerland.
