Edinburgh curler Gina Aitken continued her dream start at the Scottish Championships in Perth yesterday, while Murrayfield’s Bruce Mouat emphatically returned to winning ways.

Aitken was the only undefeated ladies player following Monday’s stunning 10-5 win over former world and European champion Eve Muirhead, and Aitken kept the pressure on the title favourite by winning her fourth-straight round-robin match against Hazel Smith yesterday. A competitive encounter was settled by a three at the final end as Aitken won 9-5.

Meanwhile, Mouat recovered from his 7-1 mauling from Olympic silver medallist David Murdoch as he took just six ends to hammer David Mundell 7-0.
