Holders Scotland battled through to this afternoon’s semi-finals after beating Denmark 6-4 at the European Mixed Curling Championships at Murrayfield Ice Rink.

Kay Adams, Karen Barthelemy, Euan Byers and skip Ewan MacDonald got off to a flying start, picking up three stones at the opening end. Danish skip Joel Ostrowski narrowed the gap to 3-2 but a Scottish double gave them a three-stone advantage which proved decisive.

Group A rivals Germany and Hungary plus Finland – with a 100 per cent record – joined the hosts in the last four.
