Edinburgh squash player Doug Kempsell won four matches in two days to claim his third PSA title at the North Coast Open in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales.

The No.2 seed beat Ruan Olivier and Mike Corren in three straight games on Saturday before defeating New Zealander Ben Grindrod 11-3, 11-2, 11-5 in yesterday’s semis. That proved significant in the final as Australian Josh Larkin paid the price for a tougher semi-final, taking the opening game but then being outplayed by the 22-year-old Scot who won 5-11, 11-8, 11-6, 13-11 after an 80-minute battle. “What a perfect finish to my Australian tour!” beamed Kempsell, who also triumphed in Melbourne last month and in Geneva in March.
