EDINBURGH UNIVERSITY enjoyed a double-win weekend in hockey’s Division One.
On Sunday, Stephen Dick netted twice and there were singles from Will Harper-Lawrence, Alan Oldham and Dan Coultas as the students beat MJV Dundee Wanderers 5-0 on Tayside.
Twenty-four hours earlier, Jamie Wong’s late strike secured a 3-2 home win over Hillhead. Their other scorers were Coultas and Gordon Amour.
Grange increased the misery for bottom club Uddingston with a 3-0 victory at Fettes.
In the women’s Division One, Edinburgh University beat plucky city rivals Erskine Stewart’s Melville 5-0. Former Scotland internationalist Sam Judge was on target for the Uni, with other goals coming from Louise Fleming (2), Amy Brodie and Becky Merchant.
Edinburgh remain top on goal difference from Dundee side Grove Menzieshill.
At the other end of the table, Watsonians moved off the bottom for the first time this season thanks to their first win in eight games, a 3-1 triumph at GHK, who now anchor the table.
