Hockey: Edinburgh University on upward move

Have your say

Edinburgh University’s hockey team are on the verge of passing last season’s points total already when they square up to bottom club Watsonians at Peffermill tomorrow (3pm).

They now have ten points and sit comfortably mid-table, and assistant coach Dave Reid believes that last Sunday’s defeat of Hillhead was their best performance of the season so far.

He hopes to build on that. “The guys were really focused last Sunday,” he said

Elsewhere, Grange entertain second-bottom Dundee Wanderers (11am, Fettes) having won four of their five outings, scoring 24 goals and letting in eight.

Inverleith entertain Kelburne (13.15) who have an unblemished four-game record and scored 33 goals. Inverleith are eighth in the ten-strong table with two wins from six games.
