NEW Grange hockey coach David Knipe was left with much to ponder after his side were brushed aside 4-0 by Bromac Kelburne.
The West of Scotland club, whom Grange defeated in last season’s play-off final, dominated the game at Fettes. Knipe, who took over from Colin Clarke – now director of hockey at Nottingham Trent University – at the weekend, said: “We’re disappointed but we now know we have things to work on.”
Lee Morton claimed a double while Josh Cairns and captain Johnny Christie also found the net for the visitors.
Twenty-four hours earlier, Grange had enjoyed a comfortable 7-2 victory over Gordonians in which new South African midfielder Satchi Reddy scored with a flick from a penalty corner. Tod Harmsworth claimed a double with Arin Doig, Michael Fenlon, Joe Waterston and Frank Ryan also scoring.
Elsewhere, Edinburgh University’s Dan Coultas claimed three goals all from penalty corners in their 5-0 victory at PSL Team Sport Clydesdale. Stephen Dick and Aedan McCrossan also netted.
