INVERLEITH face a daunting task when they travel to Glasgow’s National Hockey Centre tomorrow to play defending champions Kelburne but experienced midfielder Derek Salmond believes it will be an excellent test for the club’s younger players.
He said: “Kelburne is always a tough test. We are missing a few senior players, but it will be an excellent test for the younger guys who should, arguably, be pushing us older heads out the team soon.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if we produce a really strong performance and, as always, on our day we still feel we have a chance against anyone in the league.”
Elsewhere, Edinburgh University, fresh from a 7-0 defeat at Kelburne, entertain bottom club Watsonians, who have yet to record a victory since their promotion from Division Two.
Grange visit second-bottom Dundee Wanderers looking for win No.12 in 16 league games.
