Hockey: Students wary of a backlash

Edinburgh University will be aware of a possible backlash as they face Aberdeen in hockey’s Division One this weekend.

The students knocked the Dons out of the recent Scottish Cup semi-finals and the pair meet again in the Granite City tomorrow (2.30pm).

Sixth-placed Edinburgh have a best-ever haul of 26 points from their 17 matches so far.

Grange, meanwhile, complete their league campaign with a home joust against Hillhead (11am at Fettes).

They are second in the league with 41 points from their 17 outings having scored 67 goals and let in 26.

Inverleith, who are seventh, host third-placed Western (3.15pm at Peffermill) and will be looking for a lift ahead of the relegation play-offs.
