INVERLEITH hockey club have boosted their squad by singing several new players, including Heriot-Watt University students.
The club beat off city rivals Grange to sign Fabian Wolski, who is studying at the city university.
He was member of the German national youth teams until 2008. Since then he has been a member of several German championship squads.
Wolski has also played in the European Hockey League and his last club was Harvesterhude Hamburg, who play in Germany’s first division.
Also joining is Haddyn Cartmill, who has played for top Northern Ireland team Lisnagarvey.
Another Irish recruit is Andrew Bingham, who played for Bambridge last season. Both players are studying at Heriot-Watt.
Richard McCorkell played in Cala Edinburgh’s first team last season. Patrick Christie also moves from Cala. He is a product of Cala’s youth programme and played in Cala’s first team last season. He is also in the Scotland under-16 squad.
Both players made the switch after Cala were relegated from Division One last season.
Steve McCurry, Inverleith’s coach, said: “These players will add to an already very good squad for this season.”
