Edinburgh judoka Sally Conway has been handed a difficult draw at this weekend’s Tbilisi Grand Prix in Georgia as she seeks a podium place.

The world No.7 faces Russian Alena Prokopenko in her first match in the Under-70kg event.

Although her opponent is currently ranked 54, she will pose a threat, having won bronze at the African Open in Casablanca last year.

Austria’s Bernadette Graf, the world ranked No.5 five, is favourite but also in the draw is French judoka Gevrise Emane, the 2011 world champion and current world ranked 12th player.

She showed her form by winning the Tokyo Grand Slam at the end of last year.

Commonwealth heavyweight champion and Edinburgh team-mate Sarah Adlington, currently ranked 21 in the world, meets Mongolia’s Javzmaa Odkhuu, the European Open winner in Warsaw last year, in her first match.
