The Edinburgh Wolves have had a huge boost as they prepare for the 2015 season after securing a five-figure sponsorship deal with locally-based company FanDuel.
Wolves head coach Don Edmonston said: “This deal will ensure that all four Wolves American football teams – youth, junior, senior and women’s – will receive new uniforms and we will be able to purchase new helmets also. The ability to carry team stock enables us to remove affordability as a barrier that may stop people from trying the sport. As far as I believe this is the largest sponsorship deal in American football in Scotland, it’s now our responsibility to ensure that the money is used for maximum benefit.”
FanDuel, founded in 2009 in Edinburgh, introduced the one-day fantasy sports concept in the US and has over a million active paying players, offering both free and paid, private and public leagues for American football, baseball, basketball and ice hockey.
