Edinburgh University hockey coach Graham Moodie lost three Scottish international players during the summer break.

David Forrester is now in France, Dan Coultas has joined Edinburgh rivals Grange and Jamie Wong is playing on the continent. And two of the club’s most experienced players, Scottish internationalist Chris Duncan and Sean Stewart, have long-term injuries.

The students open their campaign in Division One with a home clash against newly-promoted Inverleith tonight (8pm) at Peffermill and Moodie has added Scotland under-18 players Jack Jamieson, Ben Pearson, Matthew White, Ewen Mackie and Ireland under-21 internationalist David Mawhinney to his squad. They have been joined by Tom O’Kelly from Gordonians, Kevin Wong from St Andrews University, Simon Blaschke from Munich and Davyn Keuter of Carnegie.

Inverleith coach Stuart Neave will be without Stuart Hatton, who is working, but otherwise will be at full-strength.

Grange, 4-0 winners at Clydesdale last weekend, host Grove Menzieshill.
