Sally Conway is hoping for domestic bliss this weekend as she sets her sights on the British title at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield.
The Edinburgh judoka has just returned from the Tokyo Grand Slam where she finished seventh in the Under-70kg event to elevate her ranking to number six in the world.
The Commonwealth bronze medallist will face opposition from England’s Megan Fletcher, who beat her at Glasgow 2014 and went on to take Commonwealth gold.
Six of Scotland’s Commonwealth medallists are in action in Sheffield including gold winners Louise Renicks (Under-52kg) and Sarah Adlington (Over-78kg).
Stephanie Inglis and Connie Ramsay compete in the Under-57kg event and Andy Burns in the men’s Under-90kg competition. Neil MacDonald (Under-60kg), Stuart McWatt (Under-81kg) and Volante Valentino (Over-100kg) are also looking to make their marks on the senior competition.
