Musselburgh Racecourse has revealed a special admission package for students for its Student Raceday meeting on Thursday, November 5.
Students can take a break from the library and swat up on the runners and riders as Musselburgh kicks off the start of its National Hunt jump season.
The student package includes racecourse entry, a burger, pint and racecard and at £12.95 is more than 50 per cent less than the normal price. A racing tipster will also give students an insight in to what to watch out for during a race day and some hints on potential winning trainers and jockeys.
The racecourse is hoping to appeal to a new generation of race-goers, with the track’s catchment area taking in numerous colleges and universities.
Musselburgh Racecourse commercial manager Sarah Montgomery said: “Students deserve some downtime like everyone else and a day at the racing will be an invigorating break from the computer screen or library.
“We know student budgets are stretched at the best of times but with cheap admission, food and a drink included in this package, we think this offers great value for money.”
Gates are open at 11am on November 5, with the first race at 1pm and last race at 3.25pm. The offer can only be purchased online and must be validated by presenting student ID on admission.
