Andy MURRAY set his sights on overhauling Roger Federer in the world rankings after destroying Rafael Nadal in the deciding set to win the Rakuten Japan Open Tennis Championship in Tokyo.

The world No. 4 made it 12 successive victories by recovering from dropping the first set to blow the Spaniard away, 3-6, 6-2, 6-0 to add the title to the one he won in Thailand a week ago.

Murray completed a great weekend by teaming up with brother Jamie to take the doubles title with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Frantisek Cermak and Filip Polasek.
