Two City of Edinburgh Trampoline Club (CETC) teenagers are this week hoping to make their presence felt on the world stage.
Ciara Donlevy and Caitlin O’Brien will represent Great Britain at the World Age Group Trampoline, DMT & Tumbling Championships in Odense, Denmark.
The 17-year-old duo are elite gymnasts in the burgeoning Capital club, which has established itself as the largest competitive trampoline and double-mini trampoline (DMT) group in Scotland and has close to 200 members honing their skills at its main training bases at Meadowmill and Lasswade.
Ciara and Caitlin have been in Denmark all week undergoing pre-competition training under the watchful eye of CETC founder and head coach Lauren Jeffrey, whose dedication to the sport was recognised when she was selected once again to be a Great Britain DMT coach for both last week’s World Championships and this week’s Junior Championships.
Jeffrey’s senior GB team landed silver in the Women’s DMT competition last week and now she is fully focused on ensuring her highly-regarded young Lothians pair can secure more global success for CETC at this week’s event, which starts tomorrow and runs until Sunday.
