City of Edinburgh picked up the first silverware of the Scottish volleyball season by taking the John Syer Grand Prix title at Dundee University.
The Capital side retained their title by beating City of Glasgow Ragazzi in three tough sets 25-17, 25-23, 26-24.
It gives City a huge psychological boost heading into the final part of the league season. Ragazzi finished three points ahead of them in the first part of the league campaign but City will now fancy their chances of a clean sweep of honours.
First-time finalists Edinburgh University failed to make it a Capital double in the women’s final.
After taking the first set 25-20 against Su Ragazzi, they eventually went down 25-20, 17-25, 17-25, 16-25.
