Threadbare City of
Edinburgh kept their unbeaten record at the top of the men’s Schelde Sports Scottish Volleyball League after suffering a scare away to South Ayrshire.

With five of their squad absent, Edinburgh were disjointed in the opening set and lost it 22-25. But the team regrouped and won the next three sets
25-15, 25-18, 25-20 to claim the three points.

Edinburgh Jets are mounting a decent challenge. After beating City of Glasgow Ragazzi the previous week, John Gaughan’s side shocked Glasgow Mets 25-21, 25-19, 25-23 away from home.

In the women’s first division, City of Edinburgh bounced back from their shock defeat at the hands of North Lanarkshire the previous week to beat South Ayrshire 25-8, 25-19, 25-9.

Troon Team Ayrshire remain the only unbeaten outfit, having seen off North Lanarkshire on Saturday 25-19, 25-12, 25-18.
