City of Edinburgh take their unbeaten volleyball record north to face Bon Accord tomorrow in the John Syer Trophy, but are leaving nothing to chance

The champions, who survived a tough match with City of Glasgow Ragazzi in the league last weekend, stepped up their training to three nights this week.

It is a measure of respect for Bon Accord who have won three out of four matches in the Schelde Sports Scottish League so far.

Edinburgh, who are again without middle blocker Connor Boyle due to a serious ankle injury, want to keep their 100 per cent record in league and cup going until at least Christmas.

Strong serving was the key to their win over Ragazzi last weekend and they will be out to put the Bon Accord passing game under pressure.

Edinburgh Jets travel to South Ayrshire for the second successive Saturday, this time on cup duty.

South Ayrshire took a set from them last weekend in the league, so Jets will not treat them lightly.

In the women’s John Syer Trophy, Edinburgh Jets, who have won four out of five matches this season, head west to take on North Lanarkshire.

Edinburgh Jets II have a difficult match at home to Troon Team Ayrshire, who are never far away from silverware.
