Volleyball: Jets seeking relief in John Syer Grand Prix

Have your say

Edinburgh Jets will seek some respite from their volleyball league woes at Queensferry High School today in the second round of the John Syer Grand Prix.

But it does not get any easier for them after six straight losses leaves them at the foot of the SVL Premier.

Jets face league leaders City of Edinburgh, unbeaten in the competition so far, and South Ayrshire, last season’s Scottish champions.

South Ayrshire beat Jets in straight sets in the first round of the competition in early October but the league clash between the teams last month was much closer.

Jets were eventually squeezed out in a five-setter, 15-9 in the fifth.

NUVOC travel to Coatbridge High to take on both City of Glasgow Ragazzi and Glasgow Mets in the John Syer Grand Prix, seeking their first win in the competition.

In the women’s event, City of Edinburgh head to Carluke to take on Aberdonia, and Su Ragazzi, and Edinburgh Jets host NUVOC and QTS Troon at St Augustine’s High.
