City of Edinburgh seek to halt the west of Scotland dominance of the men’s Scottish volleyball trophies at this weekend’s Final Fours at Edinburgh University Pleasance.
Glasgow Mets won the John Syer Trophy back in December and South Ayrshire recently wrapped up their first Scottish League title.
Edinburgh take on Mets in the semi-finals of the play-offs tomorrow, with South Ayrshire facing City of Glasgow Ragazzi in the other semi-final. The final will be staged on Sunday.
Edinburgh had a decent season in what was a rebuilding year, taking third place in the league but this is their only remaining avenue for silverware.
The Scottish Cup final later this month is between Mets and second division champions NUVOC.
NUVOC are also involved at the Pleasance this weekend and take on Bon Accord in the promotion play-offs.
In the women’s Final Fours, league champions City of Edinburgh take on Edinburgh Jets in the semi-finals – a dress rehearsal for their meeting in the Scottish Cup final.
Troon Team Ayrshire clash with Su Ragazzi in the other semi-final.
In the promotion play-offs, NUVOC, who won the second division, take on Dundee in the semi-finals.
