FORMER Hearts manager Jim Jefferies will see out his career at Dunfermline after signing a new two-year contract with the SPFL League One club.

The 63-year-old had stated his desire to quit the game when he hit 62, but he admitted that the task of rebuilding a youthful Pars team was too tempting to turn down.

“I have really enjoyed my time with Dunfermline,” said Jefferies, who had two spells in charge of Hearts and won the Scottish Cup when at Tynecastle in 1998. “I never envisaged myself staying in the game until 2015, but the new owners are keen for me to stay and I am excited about the challenge of getting the club back to where it belongs.”
