Opening win for Campbell

Capital curler Colin Campbell and his team made a winning start at the Champery Masters in Switzerland last night.

Campbell, Scott MacLeod, John Penny and Aberdeen skip David Edwards easily defeated St Gallen’s Claudio Pescia 8-3 in their opening Group D match. They have two more games today against Russia’s Alex Kirikov and Czech David Sik.

Former world champion David Murdoch and Aberdeen’s Tom Brewster also won last night against Radek Klima and Mario Freiberger, but Stirling’s Logan Gray lost to Peter de Cruz.
