Hockey: No complacency from Grange ahead of cup tie

Have your say

Holders Grange enjoyed a bye into the last 16 of hockey’s Scottish Cup but are taking no chances ahead of their tie at Arbroath-based FMGM Monarchs tomorrow.

The opposition are second in Division Three after four wins and one defeat. Grange beat Glasgow outfit Hillhead 6-2 last weekend, showing coach David Knipe glimpses of the way he wants his team to play in the future.

Grange are fifth in the top tier and Knipe said: “We’re working hard in training and moving forward as a squad.”

Inverleith, who are second in Division Two, must fancy their chances of causing an upset when they entertain Division One strugglers MJV Dundee Wanderers.

Edinburgh University, who are sixth in Division One, entertain Watsonians, who are fourth in the second tier.

Full last-16 draw: Alpha Data Carnegie v University of St Andrews; Edinburgh University v Watsonians; FMGM Monarchs v Grange; Harris Academy v Grove Menzieshill; Inverleith v MJV Dundee Wanderers; PSL Team Sport Clydesdale v Hillhead; Uddingston Riva v AAM Gordonians; Western Wildcats v Bromac Kelburne.
