City of Edinburgh missed out on the first silverware of the Scottish volleyball season when they lost out in both finals of the John Syer Grand Prix at St Andrews University.
In the men’s final, City were looking to repeat last year’s win over City of Glasgow Ragazzi but dropped the first set narrowly 23-25.
The Capital side hit back to take the second set and level the match but Ragazzi dug deep to win the next two sets and take the trophy 25-23, 21-25, 25-20, 25-23.
In the women’s final, Edinburgh fought back from two sets down against Su Ragazzi when they took the third set comfortably 25-18.
